A pink version of Muscat that is the signature of the Setubal region just across the Tagus from Lisbon. This is fortified and spends 17 years in barrel. The results are astounding. It has the ripe fruit of Port with the bewitching complexity and briny quality of Madeira. It's sweet but hardly cloying, with lots of toffee and caramel notes matched with hazelnut, spices, and terrific acidity. Unique, geeky, and delicious, with all the potential to be quite the showstopper at your next dinner party. Pair with cheeses or desserts with lots of eggs, butter, and flour. Jonathan Kemp
