Radicante is a project led by Oscar Mancillas, who grew up in Ensenada but left to make wine in California, Spain, and France's Rhône Valley. It was Noel Telléz of Bichi who got him to return to Baja in 2022.

His Clarete is 50% Cabernet Franc and 50% Cabernet Sauvignon from sandy soils. The Cab Franc is vinified using the infusion method, while the Cab Sauv is direct press. Sulfur levels are low, around 10-20 ppm. This makes for a light, juicy wine with cherry, tangy cranberry notes. It finished with a touch of pepper and smoke that adds just a bit of intrigue to this Baja banger.  Jonathan Kemp
