Fabio farms less that 10 hectares of vines, and his Nero d'Avola is just across the road from sunbaked salt fields but the wine is surprisingly fresh. Dark cherry, fresh fig, cranberry, and a crunchy mineral chew that is lifted, complex, and restorative.  Jonathan Kemp
