The Puech Redon property is not, primarily, composed of vineyards. At 384 hectares, 200 are devoted to grains and cereals, another 100 to woods and garrigues, and some 50 to vines. The whole of it is biodynamically farmed. Cyril Cuch took over the property from his Grandfather and was the one to convert the land to biodynamics. Cuch was aiming to sidestep the boredom of conventional farming with its ”by the book itineraries traced step by step by lobbyists for large phytosanitary corporations.” He also wanted to prove polyculture could be profitable. A chance encounter with Eric Texier led Cuch to winemaking. Both knew the land was right for the project and began collaborating on Puech Redon. Together, they’ve created a handful of zero/zero wines (zero chemicals, zero sulphites). 100% Cinsault, the fruit is bright and fresh, while conveying tones that are darker, mossy-er, and textured. Lovely with a chill.
