making. The wine sees a bit more new oak than the premier cru here, so the wine is a bit more primary at this stage in its evolution, but it is clearly going to be stellar once it is ready to drink. The bouquet is deep, sappy and nicely soil inflected already, offering up scents of red plums, cherries, raw cocoa, pigeon, a gorgeously complex base of soil, fresh nutmeg, woodsmoke, roses and new oak. On the palate the wine is pure, focused and full, with a sappy core of fruit, great mineral undertow, ripe, fine-grained tannins, impeccable balance and a long, complex and very, very refined finish."
