Xavier Braujou was a lumberjack before he relented and took up his family's tradition of winemaking in 1998. He works organically, uses some Biodynamic principles, and only makes varietal wines. This one is all Syrah, de-stemmed and fermented in steel tank. Smooth and dark, with notes of bacon fat and black olives. Just enough strawberry and earth to give it some dimension, it's got a lot to offer at this price. Perfect for burgers, barbecues, hearty stews.
