The single-vineyard Grenaches from Jauma are the main attraction. This one is from the "Alfred" plot of the Ralph's vineyard. This plot is at the bottom of the hill, planted in the 1990s, where there is less water and the vines and berries are smaller. Only free-run juice here, it is also aged in neutral barrel. This makes for an even more smooth, balanced wine, softening the wild edges a bit. Heady and aromatically captivating, with raspberry, wild strawberry, and a zappy mineral backbone.
