Goyo Garcia 'Finca El Peruco' Ribera del Duero 2017
- In stock, ready to ship
Notes from the importer: It’s been a few years since we’ve had the single parcel wines, and they are absolutely stunning. 'Finca Peruco' is 85% Tempranillo, 15% Albillo from a single vineyard of centenarian at 1,000m elevation, one of the highest points in Ribera del Duero, on profoundly chalky, clay-calcareous soils. The grapes were destemmed and fermented together on their skins in stainless steel tanks for 10-15 days, rested in old Bordeaux barrels for 3 years, then bottled and aged for a further year before release. 2017 was a difficult vintage in Ribera del Duero that featured spring frosts and a punishingly dry summer. Harvest was light, but the surviving grapes were high quality. More classical, more Rioja fruit and wood, but incredibly elegant.
