Elisa Guerin grew up in Beaujolais and enjoyed helping her neighbors the vineyards. They told her she should be a winemaker. Her neighbors were named Foillard. After working for another Beaujolais legend, Yvon Metras, she made her first vintage in 2019.
This Beaujolais-Villages is light and fuzzy with wild raspberry, a touch of barnyard funk, and plenty of playfulness. Tart energy, sumac, and a touch of tamari on the finish. An easy one to knock back with a chill and with any lighter cuisine.
She converted her father's vines to organic practices, and though he sold his fruit to Georges Dubouef, he took good care of the vineyard over the years. Elisa's first customers in Paris were Le Verre Volé and Le Baratin, so she is one to keep your eye on, as they will not stick around in NY unnoticed for long. Jonathan Kemp
