A collaboration between Antonio Sousa and Savio Soares. Antonio is a permaculture farmer in an obscure region called Baião outside of Vinho Verde, Portugal. He was using Biodynamic practices in the vineyard remained a little more conventional in his cellar work. Savio pushed him to make this wine with no additives or adjustments other than ground chestnut flowers to help stabilize the wine, allowing for just a very small sulfur addition at bottling of 30ppm
The Loureiro is sourced from a small producer in the Arcos de Valdevez area of Vinho Verde. Fermentation is entirely done in concrete and stainless steel. The wine spends eight weeks macerating with 10% whole-clusters and chestnut flowers. Unfiltered.
